CKNW News Talk 980 - CKNWAM: "Will the final Quarterly Report of the year from 2010 Olympic organizers be a true account of all costs linked to hosting the Games?
That's what NDP 2010 critic Harry Bains is asking as the VANOC team prepares to make what's expected to be yet another on-time, on-budget statement, 'Trying to give you the story that they'd like people to hear rather than the true picture.'
Bains says the Federal and Provincial Governments are equally responsible for letting taxpayers know if their children will be paying for cost over-runs, 'No one is able to get the information that they need because they intentionally kept it outside of the Freedom of Information Legislation and they continue to refuse to appoint an Auditor General of Record for these Games.'
Bains says the original 175-million dollar budget for security is also expected to grow.
VANOC's latest Quarterly Report will be posted at www.vancouver2010.com at 8 a.m."
